    Question

We have an old Molly, 1986-87, with loose legs. She is well loved and cared for. My daughter enjoys changing her outfits and posing her- she is not ready for the shelf yet. I am hesitate to send her to the AG hospital due to her age. What have your experiences been? Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

The AG Hospital is great! Is she a white body doll? If she is I would make a note to NOT change any of her limbs. I sent my Josefina in for a new head and she came back with one new arm as well.

You can restring her legs yourself using Taffy's instructions. It is a wonderful guide. It is SO inexpensive and EASY. http://www.justmagicdolls.com/articl...estringing.htm

You can send her to the doll hospital for limb tightening but there is no guarantee that they won't do something else to your doll, like replace the neck strings with a zippy tie. Robin AsianAG on this board can tighten your doll's limbs at a cheaper rate than the hospital and she won't do anything else to her.

Yes, Molly does have a white body. Thanks for the advice.
I've looked at the restringing websites and they look somewhat easy. However, I'm a bit of a chicken. I don't want the responsibility of ruining an AG doll - let alone one her age.

Thank you AGMom2. I will PM Robin AsianAG when we get back from our summer vacation. Have you had her restring dolls for you?

If they replace the head and give you a new one, you can call and they can put the old head back on. They save the pieces for a certain length of time. I sent Jose in and she came back with one new limb. I called and am sending her back to have the old one put on. I didn't ask for it, they just did it to Jose.

I used to take all my dolls to be restrung at a local doll shop. They had cheaper rates than the AG hospital and it was nice because you could talk to the owner and tell her exactly what you wanted, and she wouldn't do anything else. Unfortunately, they shut down, but if you could find a local doll store that's what I would do.
